Does anyone know if there is a way to re-thread worn threads on a 1" threaded fork - bought some from here that are shagged and need a miracle - I like them (Silverfox) but they are unuseable as they are...
Some thoughts: smother in metal epoxy stuff and re-thread, weld over the top and re-thread?
Any ideas / experience?

You can get the right size die for them but i cant remember were for the life of me. They definatley need building back up before re-threading.welding may distort the thin tube so epoxy may be the way to go. If there for a carpet queen maybe try using ptfe tape or electrical tape,it may well allow it to nip up enough :daumenhoch:

I have some metal epoxy used ro repair engine blocks etc so should be strong enough - I'll take it into work to see if the guys in the workshop can do anything.
Not going to be a carpet Queen! just a rough rider...
Does anyone know what thread it is?

Did they charge much? The forks aren't worth a lot but I like the look of them and would rather keep them!

The first thing I did was a search on 1" threads - how rubbish am I at searching? Thanks for the link - I am leaning towards sending my forks to Argos cycles -I'll give them a ring tommorrow. :)
