You can but it's difficult and the chromer has to be very careful.

Just been quoted £240 to rechrome 2 x Araya rims..........................very scary price!

If it helps, Hampshire Electroplating is the company Sawzall uses and he seemed to think he could chrome aluminium rims OK, and he was quite competitive on the frame etc (I just couldn't be bothered to drive to Southampton from Bournemouth three times as I wanted it dechromed, repaired and rechromed so I got a local company to do it).

They seemed quite helpful on the phone but they want to see the item before it is chromed. Might be worth a call you can't find NOS - I didn't bother because I bought PKRadman's mint Araya's for less than I could get mine chromed for. Might be a bit harder to get mint chrome pro class wheels....................

Polish them up, you will get a decent finish.

I've polished some pro class and they shine pretty good,N2cus also done some araya aero's for me too  :daumenhoch:

i get chrome rims done BUT  they arent easy to get right as the alloy wont key very well, then it tends to bubble fast
unless you go mad and have it done by a specialist  like the japs.

if i were you terry i would get the chrome stripped and polish them,as said previously chrome dosen't take to alloy very well and will oxidise very quickly which will lift the chrome :(
