Title: Projects on the go.......c'mon lets see them!

Lots of parts at the chromers waiting for collection next week, and a few parts still to be sourced!

Should be ready in time for MK09.

i know nick just been speaking to mark ( diamondback king ) and he's saying the same should keep it survivor, might just send all the bits away to get them polished and stick the new grips and seat on it and see what it looks like, only prob is it does have some very small rust spots on it so i'm not sure it'd look that great??

Post by: stidds on April 22, 2009, 11:11 AM: I had 3 projects on the go recently. My Curtis Pro, Scorpion TX and a Hawk XXL mid-school build (see mid school section). The Curtis and Scorpion were finished in the last month and the mid-school is awaiting 1 part before completion... That is all I have.

I am completely rebuilding my DeCoster with new parts and a new look.

I'm looking forward to seeing the trickstar as one bike that sticks in my head from bitd is Jason Hassle's Red/Pink trickstar.

Has that hole been drilled for a kick stand, or was it standard?

I too have a really early 1983 custom Pro-Class on the go, and will be building another custom 1983 Mongoose soon but it's a secret. Well I will be, once I can get my lazy ass up to Newcastle to collect it from Neil's grotto for adults who refuse to grow up :2funny:

Also I've STILL got a 1985 Haro Sport FST I bought off Del before christmas in bits in the kitchen.... you can inmage how much my missus loves it being there :knuppel2: :knuppel2:

Components have come flooding in over the last few days so will prob start the build this weekend.

Will send off to Dan at some point to redo in Wet White http://roseyspowdercoating.biz/osCommerce/catalog/images/wet_white.jpg as the F+F don't quite match at the moment, with a Clear Starbust over the top http://roseyspowdercoating.biz/osCommerce/catalog/images/clearstarburst200.jpg

I'll ask Del to do me some custom decals based on some templates I've been playing about weith and Paul (customparts) to annodise some components like the headset, seat post clamp etc

I hope to have this ready for MK09 but prob won't enter the show and shine as it won't be a replica...

not really a build as such just putting it back together to ride.

it's as it came from Geoff Cain except I've added wheels & tyres and cranks and swapped the cables over, as he had them the "wrong way". :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
Wheels are prolite 48 stealth hubs on sun rhinolite rims from cycle sport bmx, cheap as chips.

just need some DMR V12s and some bolts for the cranks (bolts on the way from Rhys, I owe him) and I'm good to go.
the cables will need changing at some point but it's okay for now, Geoff had Black Chrome Profiles, sadly I have plain chrome
(that's to Nick and Kuwahero and Stodgy for making this probably one of the cheapest profile setups ever)

Thought the CB bars were only kinked at one ned of the crossbar?

I have 2 sets of bars like that hung up in my garage from my Raleigh days - those are Rampar bars I have - although Thruster had some same design as well. Very early 80's.

This is my next project which I'm building up for a friend. It's going to be a rider for now & will eventually be a replica build of an awesome rider's bike from the 1990's which I suppose goes against the grain from a purists point of view but I'm always up for something different :)
