got new stem yesterday and tried fitting today .basically its 11/8 ahead style but my bars are too small for it its about 3mm too big once clamped up for the bars can u get adaptor/shim for these?
didnt even know there wasmore than one bar size i checked 4 pairs bars and they are all the same

are you using new school bars?
I never knew there was a difference in bar diameter at the stem tube, should the the stem have a shim? don't see what the point would be though.
what stem is it?
not an MTb stem is it? not that I thought MTb bars were fatter either, but just an idea.

What stem is it, sounds like it must be a MTB stem as they come in different sizes.

post a piccy up Greg.....sounds like it could be a Downhill MTB stem which would be for 'oversized' bars :daumenhoch:
