I have recently won a pair on flea-bay.
They don't seem to run quite as smoothly as I thought they would. How easy it is to take them apart and re-grease them etc? Is ther a (repro) kit available?
Similarly, with the cages will they buff up? Can I get some more NOS ones?
In total fairness to the seller, they hadn't been described as perfect or NOS or anything like that.
Thanks :daumenhoch:

If they are Suntour beartraps then they are as easy as a normal pedal to strip and re-grease. Pics would be a good starting point ;).

They are Hutch bear traps. They feel/ sound a bit gritty when turned.
If I knew how to upload pic's, I would................ ;)

Take the body off the spindle.
Remove dust cover on the bearings.
Clean out with WD40.
Pack with good bearing grease.
Replace dust covers.
Re-assemble onto spindle.
Should be loads better. :daumenhoch:

Thanks Dan Dare. I will give it a go over the weekend, unless the sun is shining, then it's beer garden all the way. :Great_Britain: :4_17_5:
