Ok guys I know this can be done and I'm sure there was a thread about it but I can't find it.
I would like a how to - For 1 1/8 forks into an O/S frame.
Cheers Guys.

Can anyone help out ?
-
you need to put all the ball bearings loose into the cups with grease then affix the rest.
-
Cheers Dan, You Da Man!
I thought that was all that was involved but wanted to check first. :daumenhoch:

i have better luck when i used the bigger ball bearings from a newer school headset
the smaller old school ones had a tad of slap so try to find a newer race to pop the bearings from.
-
Cheers Dan I will do, it's not for me it's for a mate here I will pass the message on.

i've done this recently after seeing someone on here did it. can't find the thread but basically i put tioga beatrap 2 cups in the old frame got a unsealed 1 1/8th headset, took the bearings out of the cages, loads of grease in the cups, bearings in then used the rest of the 1/18th headset to finish off.
will look for the thread.

You also need to watch which cups you use as some of the more heavy duty jobbies wont allow the larger steerer tube through, beartrap 2 cups work well :daumenhoch:
-
yep i was told beartrap 2 cups would be best.
here's the thread i got the idea from
