Title: Pro-Lite
Post by: gmac on February 19, 2006, 05:33 PM
Anybody know anything about these ?

Scored this on the bay last week, but don't know squat about them. It was pretty cheap, and it's turned out to be in good, sound condition. I'm guessing it's not top end stuff, but they must be fairly uncommon, cos I haven't seen one for a long while.

It's a kind of matt, off white/greyish colour, but I don't think it's primer ? It'll probably end up being gloss white though.

Managed to get a set of decals from Rudewheels, so at least I can restore the frameset, even if I have no idea what to bolt onto it  :-\

haha - guess what Guy, I have one!

Was actually the 2nd BMX I had BITD and the one of the first I got when I started collecting.

They were white with red or blue parts and were a cheaper range by DB (along with the pro star) Mine was about £90 new.

They had rainbow stickers but I've never seen a nos set, did get some nos pads for mine tho.

This is a very old pic - taken about 4/5 years ago.

Dave - that aeropro is long gone.....it went to proburner I think....a bargain on ebay at £90!!

Guy, not parting with those I'm afraid but if you have the blue decals from rudewheels I thought they had matching padsets too?? If not, I have a set somewhere.

Dave, don't make me think about them mate....that one (F/F) for £90, a F/F to Adam GTi ( I think) for £60 that had a dent in the seat stay - now a Team replica and a really nice complete bike for £230 last September......hindsight eh!

Will look out those black pads for ya Guy..

Hi

I was watching that bike too, it went for a good price.

I remember them being white and also the pads / stickers being rainbow. I also had a set of clothing that was white with the same colour rainbow logo's (think that it's all in a box somewhere).

Age I'd guess at around 84.

Good bikes and underestimated.

I always thought Pro Lite was a more expensive bike BITD.
Maybe that was because they were rare.
I sent off for a sticker set, and recieved a set of those rainbow ones, I was well pleased.
Stuck them on a old beater that I had re painted by a guy who worked at Fords.
I have a pic somewhere, I will try to dig it out.

if it was a star in the gusset - it was a pro star, they were chrome.
