Couldn't believe it when this came up on the bay so bid and fired off an e.mail to see what he would take and got a result!
Overall in very good nick, bike and especially the cranks don't look like they have been used much at all.
A few snaps of as is

Not much work needed to tidy but it does need pedals. I have a few pairs of XC II' bit don't think these would look right, what do you guys think??

Yeh, nice one. I threw him £300 on email as soon as it came up, you must have went big to tie that down.
Bren.
-
yep, very nice ;)
-
is that an Audi alloy in the back?
-
Bren,
I wondered who it was who offered the 300. I had asked him what he wanted before your offer came in though. I spent more than the 3 but less than what my maximum bid had been.
Orb, the alloy is another spare Aplina rear for my car.

very nice! good score

I was just making a chance offer, I already have an 83 GHP Pro, just thought a long would look nice next to it ;). What year is that one and is the fork drilled for a front brake?
Bren
-
Bren,
Does the serial number make it an 83? The fork is undrilled.

fook me! That's well early... GHP started in August 83, yours is September 83 was no 151 made that month...
Oh, and another good point for you... It was made by VDC :daumenhoch:
Bren ;)
PS. you jammy $%£%^%&^*((**!!!!!!!
-
Bren,
Thanks for that. I'll post a pic of where the seat stays meet the top tube as the tt seems to be butted (ie larger diametre) at that point.
You can't quite see what I mean from this shot.

Gutted - just gutted!!! It should have been mine.
Damned holidays!!! :tickedoff:
-
Actually, having loked closer at the whole bike pic you can just make out the top tube get bigger about and inch or so before it joins the seat tube.
Sorry Neil, I guess I have some good karma come my way, by you being on hols at the time!
How's the Carerra II coming on? I'm still waiting on a couple of parts before building mine up.

That's sweet as a nut and a couple of choice parts. Nice early (square cornered) red anodised DK stem.
-
like it. it's in good nick too.
-
Nice one Frosty - sweet cranks! Good find dude. :daumenhoch:
-
I know what you mean about the top tube, they were squashed into an oval shape at the seat tube junction, so from the side on the tube looks taller at that end.
-
i came in to have another look, lovely bike. I asked Nicky what she thought of it as she passed and she said......'it's shiney' ::)
-
great score - looks lovely.
