Mine so far mate (I think). Thinking of selling this though as I just don't have the time to ride it.

Andy, get that bike out mate, we really need some more OS in the south, at the moment its pretty shite. 3 riders in the last 2 southern regionals. The north have several full gates, we need to get more people involved! Comeon!
I hear you Glen and i would love to mate especially after racing the B'mouth regional last year but i'm paranoid about injuring myself again :-[ :-[ I've just got over my back problem that i've had since my manic crash at Andover last February. It screwed my back and my shoulder ligaments, i broke my collarbone and i also dislocated my sternoclavicular joint which has resulted in my collarbone sticking out of my breastbone for the rest of my life. Its taken me 15 months to fully recover.
I know these are excuses and i'm sounding gay but......... If i go to MK09 i'm hoping to push my bike around the track.

Old school?? :-X

i would say the kuwahara lazerlite nowt flash about it ,reasonable price and did everything asked of it.
-
Jeeeezuz! Ok, thats fully understandable! ok, see you at MK anyway :)
:LolLolLolLol: I was on a new school bike aswell. A 2002 Huffy Primus, i came off it a second time about three weeks after my break had healed, just to test it like and ended up with 6 stitches in my knee. My wife then said "NO MORE" I can't believe she then let me ride B'mouth.
I swapped it after that crash with Vestan Pance off here for an 84 Quadangle. I obviously can't ride them very well anymore.

Proper old school (up to 1986 for me as I was out of it between 86-90/91) Skyway TA for me. Totally raceable geometry but not made of waffer thin tubing like GT, Hutch and JMC race bikes.
Second generation old school (86-93), S&M Challenger or Robinson Pro/Amtrac.
-
challenger all the way. or an old tnt proxl

Yeah, hardly anyone uses a "proper" old school bike to race old school now. I reckon more should stop hanging on to the old school label and start racing masters, 39-39 and 40+ (or just call it old bike class rather than old school) ;) :10_2_12:
Challengers and Robbos aren't really mid-school though (still use threaded headset and crap brakes). Mid-school for me is early threadless, clamp-on and v-brake models (94/95 onwards).

Mark Huddart won the OS Grands at Preston yesterday (4 full gates, D-A Finals!) on a Falcon cruiser (I think it's a 'Theta'), I was just saying on the OS racing thread that this could mark a change in direction. Stock in OS Cruiser market has just risen...

In the mid eighties I went through a few framesets but the best in my opinion for sharp handling and smooth ride was my redline 600a
crap piccy but hey thats the camera quality in the eighties lol.

having built n ridden numerous o/s legal frames ::) tnt, elves, revcore, clayborn, i gotta say, its very much down to the rider, i also think a few riders having leaned towards the longest frames they can get realise that it doesnt mean the best ride, i went for the longest frames i could find and the easiest frame by far i have ever ever ridden is my likkle 19 1/2" tt elf dbl X, im keepin it for my old age :LolLolLolLol:
all the above have/do ride nice tho.
-
i have a sweet old school race legal s&m dirt bike frame. it doesnt have 990 mounts and is 1". think the tt is 20.5"
i also have a set of nos odyssey xtro race forks with front and rear hubs. i was going to build an os race bike but i really cant see me getting round to it.
if anybody is interested in it send me a pm and i will get some pics together......it would make a sweet ride for racing for sure. and rare to :daumenhoch:

im in southend essex. never raced before i was going to start but since have decided to get back to park and trails....
