Great race guys, good to chat with new and old faces.
You've got a good thing going especially after hearing about the poorer numbers down south. Long may it continue!!
Think i can speak for all the scots and say many thanks to everyone who made us welcome again, spot on.
-
nice one! we really need to get the southern OS riders back on the tracks. We've had 3 only for the last 2 regionals, piss fookin poor :'(
Of the 3 that raced today - 1 shouldnt be because of ACL operation couple of months ago and the other announced it was his last OS race (he's been doing OS and 40+ cruisers at each meeting)
So only Glen is really racing and he's out on his own.....
so yeah piss poor....
-
Watching Glen makes up for the low numbers!!! The guy is RAD!!! :daumenhoch:

It was amazing today, plus there are actually some shots of me! :)
Plus I came up from Coventry, because if you think the south is dying, the Midlands is completely flat-lined! :buck2:

Can't believe it's fallen off so suddenly.
I think Glen, Kev and Neil would be better off in Masters/Cruiser as a 3 man OS class doesn't really do OS racing any favours.
-
I agree Mike, as mentioned Glen is seriously considering joining Masters, Big Kev has thrown his lot in with the 40+ Cruisers and that just leaves hobbling Mr Magoo..... (who does have a cruiser but shouldnt be racing anyway!)
So thats the South Over and out....
Its a real shame, but most have gone because of progress, a lot of the names listed in last years listing only raced 1 or 2 meetings then we never saw them again.
me
Eloopnai
Quadpaul
Zippy
Gary72
Matt Oaten
Hooga (though not raced yet)
Darren Vickers - Cruisers
Nishiki
All gone to Cruisers
SE - still threatening to return
Diamond Dean - Emigrated to Oz - soon to be seen with OzOS Series
Ratty - Retired Injured at the moment
Fiolasa Lovechild - Still about here and there
Lets hope the RadBash doesnt suffer the same way but with 31 on the gate at preston I think we should be alright....
-
But the thing that was good at Dagenham sunday was that the three riders were all evenly matched & had some good races.
Neil's gates (with a mullered knee) are awesome. :uglystupid2:
Kev's power is amazing :daumenhoch:
Glens style/jumping/speed is ace :coolsmiley:
Maybe the others heard how fast the class is now and are scared to race e'm? :knuppel2:
I'd hate to see it dissapear.
C'mon lets have a few more!!
-
As Spillers pointed out yesterday. 6000 members on RAD but only 3 in the South want to play on their old school bikes :-\
-
I'm putting money on Glen for the brits title (if he's eligable to ride?) :2gunsfiring_v1:
-
Glen has got to be a contender for the title, but don't count out JT Smooth and reigning Champ Bill Stupp.
-
i had a good ole chat with glen yesterday at daggers(top bloke) about the piss poor attendance in old school this year :-\
I kinda feel sorry for glen, magoo and kev as they always still battle hard with each other and all 3 are exceptionaly good racers and i'm glad they weren't riding old school in 2007 :daumenhoch:
I know people have commitments in life but 229 people still managed to race yesterday at daggers south regional and more than half were over the age of 25 so why can't more people with old school bikes attend and race?i'm not trying to be funny i'm just curious :-\ like i said to glen and mike etc yesterday there are thousands of old skoolers on here from the south with lovely bikes just collecting dust ;) the sport is only as dangerous as you want it to be. fck even JP MULISHA bit the bullet and did his first ever race meeting at the age of 39 :daumenhoch: jumped straight into 30-39 cruisers at daggers regional and had a blinding day,
I get inspiration from people like HUMPS alan who at 57 (i think) is getting up on the gate every weekend in south meetings and southwest on his dialled and having a massive smile on his face
-
Yeah, forgot about JP doing his first race yesterday. Been badgering him since I first met him last year to race and now he's done it. I could tell by the smile on his face between motos that he wished he'd done it sooner.
As for Humps current :4_17_5: in 45+ at the age of 55+ and he only finished 1 place below me yesterday in the combined 40+/45+ class.
-
He was(jp mulisha) strutting around after his moto's like a cat that got the cream :LolLolLolLol: i think he feels part of the bmx racing gang for real now.
-
I had a word with JP on friday night about racing & sold it to him pretty good! :knuppel2: :daumenhoch:
-
Great pics Snav :daumenhoch: .
7th from the bottom , awesome jumpin' Ripper ;) .
2nd from the bottom , some kinda loon trying to fly ! :LolLolLolLol: ( you'll have to flap ya arms faster than that Ade :D ) .
-
I had a word with JP on friday night about racing & sold it to him pretty good! :knuppel2: :daumenhoch:
and i think he'll be here for good now. he loved it! i think the first corner battles were amusing him how that much machinery and bodies can all make it round that first turn at daggers.
-
jay parker on the ripper, great pics n great riders all round dudes, lets keep this happinin, i'll get real old real quick if it stops :daumenhoch:
