I have a couple of laybacks which seem to have quite thick tubing and neatly chamfered at each end and I've recently aquired a straight post which is thinner tubing,no chamfering and light as a feather.
Does anyone have info on what posts/lengths Renthal made....was there a "lite" version for minis maybe?
The bike shop I worked for in the 80's had the rep come round once or twice a month but i only remember orders for really long straights and laybacks with thick tubing...quite solid made.

The only straight one I know of were made with the same thick tubing and chamfered ends as the laybacks. See pics below :daumenhoch:

^^^ Thanks for that.
Mine has a Renthal Round Decal on... not seen one like yours before. ???
Either the one I have is a knock off or it is a "lite" version for minis or something.
Has about 2mm wall thickness, has cleanly sawn ends and is anodised all over very nicely. Hmmm.
Hopefully someone else maybe able to shed some light.

I've got a NOS renthal straight post the same as the one you're describing brandy, renthal made numerous posts in various sizes & thickness, i did have an ad showing them all but i lost all my photos at the beginning of the week when my pc decided it didn't wanna run windows anymore :LolLolLolLol:
I think they described the thinner straight posts as their 'ultralight' range or something like that.. :daumenhoch:

Again, Cheers for the input,I'm sure there was a "lite" version......Will get a pic up of mine later vs the layback...

Funny memory.....
Remember seeing Gary Llewellyn at Hounslow track working on his bike between motos tightening stuff up etc and distinctly remember him only putting his seatpost in an inch into the frame at most before clamping it
Definately a mahooosively long Renthal post, do remember that. ;D
