Hi Greg, to remove chrome safely I think you need to reverse the chroming process!!!
Talk to a chromers who will advise you. :daumenhoch:

I'm sure you have to take them to a chromers to reverse the the chroming process.

My chromer has just stripped a frame 4 me and he advised me when I asked that they use an acid 2 strip chrome. Think it was Sulphuric based. Nasty stuff  Did a great job aswell :smitten: better than blasting and damaging tubes and welds. Charged me £30 4 F&F

reverse process all chromers do that as far as i know. and in my experience up to now...never heard of acid to remove chrome before, but thats not to say it doesnt happen.
I watched a pair of bars and forks done personally...dipped in a tank with balls floating on when they came out the chrome was gone...

well just spoke to the nearsest chromers to me and wont be using em 25.00 quid per wheel to strip chrome and another 30.00 to rechrome after jees
might have to go the wet and dry or blast then powder coat route but didnt really want to do that .

you can strip chrome off with a buff wheel and compound ....yes i have done it with a crank before
