In January this year i met up with Neil Park, Dave Parks eldest son. We met in Birmingham at a service station. We had spoke a few time on the phone after a friend of Neil's had found my DP Firebird web site. We had a really good chat and Neil was kind enough to bring along some old photo albums that belonged to his father, most of which are now on the web site. But there was one photo that i really liked the look of. The more i looked at this picture the more i wanted to build the bike. After working out what parts were on the original i started buying them up ready for the build. The frame in the original picture was a Mk1 Firebird Delta 2 with Firebird forks, i believe this to be a very early frame set, maybe one of the first frame sets made as there are no Delta 2 forks with the frame. And as you can see it doesn't even have the Delta 2 decals. I have used a Mk2 Delta 2 frame with Delta 2 forks, i didn't want to start swapping forks over off my other frames. I also made some other changes, i had the Suntour XC pedals already and thought they would be a better race pedal for the bike. I haven't got the heart to pull the original decals off the rims and replace them with yellow ones. The pad set original came form a company called Cobra BMX, but finding one was never going to happen so i made my own. Anyway, finally got it finished today as Sawzall was kind enough to drop the Weinmann caliper in that i need to complete the build, cheers Phil :daumenhoch:
So here you go, hope you like it !!
cheers steve

Top build Steve but it looks better in the flesh it looks like the british version of a hutch race bike, something a bit different, I bet you went all starry eyed when making those pads and thinking about DP'S :daumenhoch:
