Title: 43T or 44T with a 16T freewheel ?
Post by: bobafett on May 24, 2009, 01:55 PM
So which would you use 43T or 44T on a 16T freewheel ?

Would you bring the crank arm length into the mix - i.e. 165-170 use 43T 175-180 use 44T (more leverage ?)

Any thoughts ?

i'm in a quandry at the moment with this gearing. doing up my dmr trailstar 26" mtb as bmx style cruiser. got a peregrine 43t and a 44t profile ring and would be getting single speed mtb disc hub with 16t cog. 175 mm profile cranks. would this work same as bmx gearing or will it be harder or easier due to the large diameter of the wheels.

i was thinking of going for the 44t profile ring.
any advice from you gearing boffins please... :daumenhoch:
