Title: Head set problem!!
Post by: buzzlightyear05 on May 29, 2009, 02:42 PM
Ive just been down to the Lbs  and bought a Tempory Inch headset to stop me knocking the forks out of a frame.

Anyway i run off to the shed to fit said head set and it falls into the frame  :crazy2:

It says 1' on the box so i presumed it should fit fine,Ive treid an 1 1/8 cup and thats not going in.

does anyone know if you can get headsets smaller than 1'??? Everything screws fine onto the forks ect just the cups.

Anyone know what the scrore is,before i convince myself im a bit :idiot2:

Tom.

I sourced a cheap and nasty 1" Diamondback headset from Halfrauds a few years back to fit a frame and fork set together so I could sell it.  :idiot2:
The cups literally fell into the headtube and rattled around.
Even tho the beartrap headset i removed had fitted perfectly, and the Nikyo headset I finally used fitted perfectly too.
So I'd say the cups may be at fault.  :daumenhoch:   G.

1" threaded Headset for BMX's is different to other 1" Headsets.

Some early Burners had a smaller Headset (I think)

Your Headset is probably for a smaller 1" sized headset!!

lol its only to keep the forks in place for the time being save me knocking them over all the time. It will get replaced when i build her up dont worry.

Teaches me for buying £4 girly bike CRAP lol.
