"hi, i really want an s+m but i don't know why."
-

-

get a warpig.
One of the legendary street weapons from the late 90's :daumenhoch:
-
bofs got the nicest dirt bike ive ever seen. i know cos i sold it to him. the quality of it is outstanding..early one with no 990 mounts. the welds ar something else :smitten:
missing it bad :'(
-
where was the Heavy As Fook in this poll? Not that I would have voted for it - too heavy!
-
I voted Challenger cos it's a race frame and I like race frames.
Holmes is probably nicest to ride though.

dont you have a challenger Mike?
-
Yep, and a couple of Holmes frames as well.
Challenger needs a bit of a spruce up. Might race OS at the Brits on it.

:LolLolLolLol:
I know why I want one ::) it's the build quality and heritage that goes with S&Mbikes
Obviously it's stands for a lot as they're a benchmark brand ::)
I suppose I'll have to justify the reason for my post , as I've not been officially invited into this section of the forum ;)
I 've only ridden a Dirt bike and a Challenger on the track , and I really liked the Challenger 8)
So as I didn't ride in the mid school years , I thought I ask all the experienced Mid school Rad member/riders for their valued 2 penneth on other models
At the end of the day ,when I build one it will hopefully be a rider/race bike ,, but tidy looking one too :smitten:

Get one cos ya want one, there is no other valid reason, If I fancied bumsex I would try it, approval by veteran bummers would not be that important :daumenhoch:
-
If they start a bumsex section of the forum
You can be a moderator ;)
-
Is this Midshool section , actually
" The secret Radforum " special invites and handshakes only :D

Feels like it sometimes dont it

yo ' bru, tell us why like ...... please !

it's only gay if you take it. and real men go in dry. apparently.
as for early S&Ms not sure anything with a 1" headtube is going to be the best anything, so I guess the later the better, presumably the best of the 1" frames were just before they changed to the best set up (1 1/8" aheadset)
-
All 1" forks, and posibly frames are weak, just some are less weak. All the early (2 stuck together) S&M dropouts bent (but they lasted longer than any of the single dropouts on other frames).
Are you are asking which early S&M frame is the best to ride, or the hardest to get hold of, or the nicest to look at, or the most iconic, or ... or ... or ... ?
(Im not trying to "gogo" you and make fun, its just a pretty open question you are asking) :daumenhoch:
-
If you want a rider/race S&M how about an early 1 1/8 Holmes or Challenger, will do what you want it to do & has mid school coolness without the headset coming loose all the time :daumenhoch:

Thanks Alex ;)
Yeah my question is open , I suppose to ask which is everybody's personal favorite , for your own reason why :smitten:
but also I hoped to find out which frames were a popular favorite for racing :)
Going off the poll results , I've already rode the 2 most popular , and I liked the geometry on both
Thanks for all the reply's ,votes and opinions :daumenhoch:
It was worthwhile , to me
-
if you r going to ride it hard and be a 1incher MK3 Holmes, dont know how tall you are but why not stretch out on the couch?
