Hi all,
After any info and pictures of Planet X prototype BMX racing frames/bikes,
i.e. former riders, owners, how many where made, when they were produced... etc. ???
Thanks.

Never seen a Planet-X BMX. Have you tried contacting them direct?
I seem to recall Brant Richards saying on a mountain bike forum that On-One made a BMX frame but no one bought them and they sold em off for £100.

:) Dunno about race frames, but their freestyle frame was a pig! Biggest ever dropouts.RideUK reviewed it way back when.

Was it steel or aluminium? in what way was it a pig? (or just coz of the dropouts). any idea on the age of the mag?

On-one Gimp has the same shape headtube gusset but that's the only similarity, the Planet X jack flash looks very much the same as it, but obviously bigger.

If it was only a prototype then it's unlikely anyone on here will know anything about it or where it is.
Maybe it's in this pile somewhere:

Thanks for that, but that's not the one.
It's aluminium, fat tubing, loads of gusseting on every triangle, v-brake mounts on top legs.
I'll have to take a picture of it when i get back to work in the week.

Not mine, someone elses. I'd call it a day if that many of my frames went pop.

We are talking dim and distant past here, but I think it was a Street frame, and was designed by Patrick Guimez. Neither of which means terribly much to me, but might to someone. Quite "of it's time" I think - big grindy dropout plates etc.
I'm sure George French, who helped us make our Full Monty hubset would have been horrified.
I also seem to recall an alloy bmx frame, possibly gold anodised, but this was just a sample. I dare say I have a pic somewhere on this laptop, but can't find it.
Lots of frames in that pile - I think it was about three years worth.

Should put it here!!!
Only 3 made according to there website.
Mine cost £80 i think about 10 years ago.
It was a protoype race frame, stickered as a Jack Flash.
I also have a 26" Jack flash so thats the reason I got one,
Also cos its really rare!!!
Cheers guys
Winston.

i think the on-one version was called the Runt - if Brant's around he'll shed some light on it all
