Title: rare ass standard shorty
Post by: harris on June 21, 2009, 06:26 PM
this was put together very fast and is being rebuilt as we speak to its intended spec  but pic first   update later when done.

this is one and the only one recorded to be kept by standard back before production started.
the batch got rejected due to them not hitting the quality standard required.the gardner shorty and lengthy never went into production but sold on as basic bikes.

this one was the only one to get the  "si " stamp  and riden by chad degroot   and then sean murphy ..the stickers also never went into production, also designed by sean murphy.
but rick liked it so much and the stickers he kept them with his other pro frames..
i got offered it and rick said he would personally sort it and restored it for me...
i had to get it together for custom riders 25th anniversary but only had like 1 day and all the bikes had already been loaded so had to rob parts off another to get it rolling.
rick was cool with it so off it went...again sorry for the parts as the pic was taken before it got dark and was finished about 20mins later...rebuild has already begun..

That's awesome  :daumenhoch: I like how the stickers look  8)
What had to be done to restore it? Hope you change the pedals before busting out some flatland on it though  :D
