Hey guys,
I've only ever laced a Z rim before attempting this ukai rim, but I'm not sure if if done it right.
I think I've done what is called a 4-cross lacing system.. I think???
The issue I have is if you look at where the spokes meet the nipples it appears that the spoke is going in a different direction to the nipple and looks kinda strained if ya know what I mean.
I didn't have this issue with the Z rims as they don't have the dome shaped holes on the rim surface.
Have I done this wrong or somethin?
Have a look and let me know as I don't wanna do the other wheel until I'm sure I've done it right.
Cheers dudes :daumenhoch:

youve done better than me,
gary

Looks fine John, you have done a 4x pattern there and this always pulls the nipples in the rim slightly I find.

It looks wrong to me , show me a picture of the valve hole area and it should give me a better idea. :daumenhoch:

Yep, sorry but I reckon it has been built wrong, its nearly there though. ;)
-
Yes, you have done it wrong. The spokes are coming in from the wrong sides ;)
You will need to undo them all and start again I'm afraid
-
Sorry to say mate but it's defo wrong :(
The spokes next to the valve hole should lean away from it , ;) yours are leaning in.
Place the rim flat with the valve hole at 12 o'clock. One of the holes either side of the valve hole should be offset towards the top of the rim, i always make sure this is on the LHS, this may involve turning the rim over. This is the hole you should start lacing from :daumenhoch:
Tell you what , I will send you a couple of links 2moz :daumenhoch:

You've all been a great help as always fellas.... laced them up correctly now!
Truing them for side wobble seems easy but it's the up and downing which is pissin me off :-\
