Andy
No survivor class mate, it is really diffucult to ensure a bike is indeed a survivor not one made up of bought parts. It doesn't matter if your bikes aren't shiney mate, any BMX is worth showing and for us all to look at and enjoy.
-
Cool cheers Sean.
Paypal as a gift ???????????????????

Gift is always great!

Can't wait :4_17_5:
Just need to decide what I'm bringing now so I know what size van to hire :LolLolLolLol:
Anyone know where to get some cheap bike stands :-\ not much out there on ebay........................
-
All paid then for show and shine.
PM on its way to Pickle in a minute with details. :4_17_5:
John...... Try your local bikeshops for stands, they may have a few spare you can borrow, may need to chuck a couple of quid in their tea fund though. I've had major problems getting some, hoping to be sorted soon though with some home made jobbys from my brother. :-\ :-\

Great to see so many peeps coming so far for what i'm sure will be a wicked weekend :4_17_5:
Just a little note to peeps, the mods work extremely hard to set up and run this event, they're all knackered at the end of it and the last thing that them and MK club need to do is clean up after us rowdy lot so
PLEASE PUT YOUR RUBBISH IN THE SKIP AND DONT JUST LEAVE IT FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO DO
Rant over :-*

NO, not seen it. I heard there were a few close by
90 acres of it next door - Willen Lake, North or South Lake, take ur pick
Just avoid the fishies as there are a few goodens in there, oh and look out for the speedboats, dragon boats, jet skis, wakeboarding... ;)
Take out as many ducks, geese and swans as u like as they r a pain in the arse when fishing (my other hobby) :daumenhoch:

I have to live 'round here! :daumenhoch:
-
ok sounds good, so its doable then. All the above wont be close enough to the edge to be a problem
I didn't say that... Just that there is a lake next door ::)
-
On a serious note (sorry an all that. i like porn as much as the next man...!)
What's the practicalities of the event?
How do I secure my bikes prior to the show & shine?
When do people generally start arriving on the Sat?
Is it first come first served to bivvy up by the showground?
Is there a beer tent or bring ur own?
Is there a chance to ride the Track on Sat without racing on the Sun?
Can the same bike be entered into more than one category in the show and shine?
I'm a virgin when it comes to any rad events hence all the questions
Mny thx for any pointers that can be given
Cheers
Greg
-
How do I secure my bikes prior to the show & shine?
With a Lock to your own bike stand
When do people generally start arriving on the Sat?
Early! about 9am generally
Is it first come first served to bivvy up by the showground?
Pretty much
Is there a beer tent or bring ur own?
Bring your own, there is no Beer tent
Is there a chance to ride the Track on Sat without racing on the Sun?
Yes of course, the track is open all day on saturday for practice (helmets must be worn though)
Can the same bike be entered into more than one category in the show and shine?
would they fall into more than one??

Thx Pickle
I noticed for race registration an element of the fee covered temp MK Club membership. How does this work for teh Sat if I don't want to race on Sun?
Can the same bike be entered into more than one category in the show and shine?
would they fall into more than one??
Good Point! Just testing to see if people were paying attention :D
Althoug, thinking about it, I could possibly fit into 2 categories. Skyway Street Beat (1985) could fit into Old School Freestyle (1980 - 1986) & Old School Street Bike (1980 - 1986) - Everyday bikes (Burners, Yamaha, Mongoose, Fox, etc, etc) ;)
Does everyone normally provide a placard about the bike and add any other dressage or do just the real serious nuts do this but it's not "expected" ?
Thanks for all of your help with the answers to these
Cheers
Greg
-
over the weekend of MK i will be sitting with all the official registration cards and handing them out to you. there is also a box at the bottom for you to write anything you feel the judges should take into consideration??

-
Is it first come first served to bivvy up by the showground?
Pretty much
bivvy ? .
-
bivvying is sort of random tent pitching...
-
thought bivvy was short for bivouac - which is just a slung together temporary sleeping shelter - anorak please :-[ :LolLolLolLol:
-
yeah that....

There was a saying in my Army days which I subscribe to and that's "Any idiot can be cold or wet" (idiot substitutes the cruder "c" word ;))
This still aplies to my angling activities and so that I'm not too uncomfortable I have an adjustable bedchair with 4 season sleeping bag (don't ask... ::)) although this may be slightly over the top for the weather we are having at the mo'
