Title: Name that OS gate still there....
Post by: billycrabtreeomer on June 24, 2009, 01:41 PM: Couldnt believe it still there and even found the handle to lift it, Who ever lifted it when they held a national was a hero.
Wonder if he,s got a bad back cas it was very heavy.

Can remember your mum & dad now you nentioned it, long time ago.
You raced well at weekend on that very nice cruiser of yours. Cheers for letting us have a spin nice bike.

That was Gary Fleming ( Gareth's dad ) who had the wonderful job of lifting that gate up on the day of the national. Rained hard most of the day as well. I'm sure his back was ok as he had a manual job tarmacing roads at the time.

Post by: kamodo on July 08, 2009, 12:51 PM: Its sad to see these old tracks so overgrown, how many hundreds of us kids spent hundreds of hours tearing it up on these tracks, and things have supposed to have moved on. Got relatives from the Uk here at the moment, both kids are useless lazy f*cks who could benefit by spending an afternoon down a local BMX track getting some mud on there hands and knees. God bless the 80's :Great_Britain:

Burgess Hill track was levelled about ten years ago. Last time I went past there was just a flat open space...
