Look good, but no, I wouldn't use em.  Cro-mo bars all the way for me.

Great for kids, but flexy as hell for older/heavier riders.

Ran a set about 12 years ago on me Haro race bike.

The chainrings and sprockets look awesome though, even come in 4 arm versions. Which means if I aver see them for less than £40 I'll run one.

I've got some on my Haro ATM
and they do flex a little bit
but i am 14 klem of pure lard  ;D
the ones in alans look like the pit bike ones
knurled at one end like snav says
and they are a bit wider than normal bars to

chewy

But thats the 80's ones that flex... do you think that'll be the case with the newer ones? ???

I've only had mine a month and done 1 race
2 big crashes and their still in 1 piece
so their pretty tough as well as flexi
and got them off internet as pit (play bike) bars
just like the ones in alans  ::)

just got me a set of the playbike bars, the tubeing is thicker than the old school bars. i cant imagine flex being a problem because they are as thick as there normal motorbike bars, you might feel flex on say a gixxer streetfighter, but i doubt it on a BMX.(standing to be corrected as i dont ride that hard any more)
i managed to snap my oldschool ones bitd ,but the tubes were way thinner.
