Hi folks.
Well at last the time has come (well next Sunday 5th July), where I'll be attempting my first ever charity ride, for the British Heart foundation (32 miles...yeah wtf!). I'd previously done a thread before in the event and gatherings section but decided to do a fresh post as it's nearer the time (man it's come around quick). I've been training and will give it my best shot...I reckon the ride will take me about 4hours (although I have 6 hours to complete it :crazy2:).
I'm hoping to promote the work done by the BHF and of course Rad, so if any radsters would like to sponsor me that'd be cool, if not no probs at all....I know I don't know everyone on site and ain't the greatest of posters or ''one of the lads'' but love my BMX and wanted to do something worthwhile. If I don't complete then of course I won't hold anyone to their sponsorship donation.
I won't ram it down peeps throats, if you donate cool, if not no worries ;) If you have any questions or queries by all means ask..I may have set my sights a bit low re the fundraising amount (as it was originally based upon 8 miles but that was an error on the BHF site so 32 miles it is).

Many thanks for looking and any support :)

A real big thanks thanks for the support guys, can't say that enough, without sounding cheesy it' really does help others :4_17_5:
With donations on the sponsorship page and signatures on the paper form, so far the total comes to almost £120 (that includes the 0.25p per pound re gift aid), absolutley fooking ace, what an incentive :D
Props

Massive thanks to all of you who sponsored me for yesterdays ride for the BHF, you guys rock :4_17_5:
In total, the sponsorship figure came to £200 and then with gift aid another £30-£40 pound on top (all credit to all the sponsors) which ain't bad since I only decided to ask a week before the event :4_17_5: )
As for yesterday, it was brilliant, such a buzz and adrenalin rush. The sun was out, had my BMX gear on (ie Aero race pants, Vans classics and Yes lid...proper fancy dress!). Never seen so many mountain and road bikes yesterday...and little ole me, the only rider on a BMX  (was getting called 'The BMX kid! ;D )
Will post some pics up when they are downloaded on the BHF website, ie start/mid and finish line with time (just as proof ;D). As for the time, it took about 3hrs 30 odd (included 2 water stops at the stop stations) to cover the 32 miles. Tell ya guys, you gotta do this, if I can, anyone can, some of the hills I had to get off and push up but going downhill was a real blast (like being a kid again riding through the country side).
Anyway that's enough from me, thank you all.....I mean that ;)
Paul (still buzzin)

A few pics of the day....
At the start, and a rider spotted the bike, noticed the Sharp BB of all things and was trying to remember the name of the bars before prompting CW. Notice the colour of the wheels match my pants....it's all in the detail ;D

Boy those Aero pants didn't arf make me sweat (all in the name of Old skool though). Gearing set to 44/16

The end...seemed to be over all too soon :'(. The last pic I've seen someone crossing the line was 6hrs 31secs.
