Title: chain alignment.
Post by: brettnai on June 30, 2009, 01:32 PM
I've been having real problems with 2 of my builds getting the chain aligned.
No combination of washers and spacers seems to get the chain to run straight into the freewheel which causes an awful noise and can't be very good for the chain.

I've built bikes in the past and not had this problem but my Streetbeat and a Reflex I put together recently are both suffering from this.

Anyone got any tips?

:)Running the chainring on the other side of the spider can help,as can adding/removing washers on the crank spindle. You can also get spacers to put behind the freewheel though the chain might rub on the frame if you don`t have enough clearance.Just persevere... :daumenhoch:
