have to agree a tad pricey for a rechromed, but dont know what condition of chrome was before, maybe it needed it ?? but if someone wants a minty for show then its one for them, personal taste I guess
-
Nice...I would chrome the whole planet if I had the chance and every single FUAN Grip ;)
-
Very Nice, but alas re-chromed? will still go for good money tho :daumenhoch:
-
It'll make that money I have no doubts, there ain't many survivors anymore and most are shot to s**t, can't remember the last time I see a survivor on ebay?
-
Would you class it as a Survivor though Matt :-\ , Its been re-finished ;)
:coolsmiley:
-
nope. luvverly though.

btw, the frame number is TLL 2738 F

Deffo not survivor Paul as its been rechromed, but nice all the same. What I mean't is, there ain't many survivors about anymore as all are being re-chromed. I'm doing 2 at the moment myself, both in the chromers... and they were in such a poor condition there is no way I could have kept that in its original condition ;)

Im not really into show bikes or mint collecting so im a bit confused. It is better to have a bike that is untouched, original decals n chrome, but its a bit tatty ... or to have one that has been fixed up / re-chromed and is now totally MINT?
Just interested really ???
-
personal preference, same as anything innit.
Ideally you'd have both. one for riding, and one for sunday best.
Must admit though, I prefer survivor stuff, and all the tacky 80's stickers that come with it, than a mint show bike.
I knew that it was original paint on my rickman freestyler because of all the sussex bmx logo's and owner applied roland rat stickers....
Thats just "prefer" though, I still like a row of shiny bikes.
-
I hear ya' Matt :daumenhoch: , just thought you where classing it as a Survivor :-[
:)
-
I love Gen 1's dripping in new chrome...chrome is king :daumenhoch:

My ones weren't good survivors though, and one needed small repairs in places, so certainly one not to hang on the wall and be happy with, the other was ok but the original chrome job was poor and flaking off, so i'm getting that re-done for a show bike. I have another which is a survivor in my loft that i'm not touching and not building up. But I prefer both, survivors and show bikes that's been restored :)

thought a row of shiny helmets was your cuppa tea Mr . Fruit ???
-
seen this in the flesh, and it is a very very nice chrome job.
show is nice...but also "as ridden" is nice too...like Geoff's other old bike:
