Title: boss parts
Post by: Glen on July 02, 2009, 04:23 PM
How rare are boss parts like 1" stems, bars, etc?
Title: Re: boss parts
Post by: thecaptain on July 02, 2009, 04:40 PM
i know the boss cranks are pretty rare, saw a boss stem 1 1/8" sell for £3 on bmx-talk (the guy also sold an S&M post for £3 and an S&M racing stem for £8) so im guessing that was a one off

Boss made great stuff. As early as 84/85.
Got boss bars on my cruiser, always liked the stems, was one up for sale on here a couple of weeks back, cheap too!

what kind of spindle does it take?  cant see jack in that pic.  pedal bosses are not full wrap  :yahoo_silent:
no idea, just found the item when browsing on ebay, they look like the cheaper stock cranks you'd normally get on low end complete bikes
Title: Re: boss parts
Post by: double chevron on July 03, 2009, 02:12 PM
Doesn't really look BOSS...

Think the arms were quite the same shape through the years, only the spindle changes, from 10 spline to a profile-type, 48 one

Damn, OD, talk about a BOSS bars fetish  !! :4_17_5:

Darren Chan (dcbmx1) is one name that springs to mind when it comes to Boss science
Seen those L&S stems, nice design and different enough not to be confused with the originals

I am working with Carlo Lucia (Boss founder and the man who was behind Oakland Boss in the 1980s).  We are selling items under the L+S Creation (L+S for Lucia and Son) brand, whch he started in the early 1990s; Steve Veltman was his pro rider and was recently inducted in the ABA BMX Hall of Fame.   Carlo has been welding up frames, forks, bars for 20 (race and freestyle), 24, 26.  We hope to have freestyle bars done soon.  There are also stems and spyders.  The stems are threadless and threaded.   The frames and forks are retro style and in raw finish.   In the winter, I hope that he can make some pit frame and fork sets made in addition to experimenting with the newschool technology.    Most recently, we made a short run of frames with an extra bar like the original Champions and Pandas which was later used by Profile.
