Title: Went round a BMX track for the first time ever yesterday - coppull....... (pics)

Since I've enterted for the novice race at MK I thought I should at least have rolled around a track once or twice before I turn up, especially since racing to me BITD consisted of who could rag it down to the shops fastest to be first in line for their mr.freeeze ice pop or can of quattro 8) ;D

So I met up with rad member NORTY40 as we had been chatting over the last couple of weeks and it turns out he lives a couple of minutes away from the track (it's about 30 mins journey for me ;) )

So I grabbed my '84 cali rider and my newly purchased lid and pads (all the gear no idea :D ) and set off on a lovely sunny day 8)

First impression on arrival was "fook me how steep does that start hill look" :LolLolLolLol:

Loads of kids there too, so felt like a right tw@t first roll around :-[ but soon built up a bit of confidence and started getting some air (about 1" of air :2funny: )

I put all my gear on as I've heard far too many scarey injury stories and needed to get used to wearing it for MK anyways - NORTY40 went hardcore stylee :uglystupid2: :LolLolLolLol:

So we took turns of piece on the cali (get yer rider built Jonathon ::) ;D ) and then went and had a brew and talked bollox till about 9pm :LolLolLolLol:

Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon/evening - can't wait for another go on the track now 8) :daumenhoch:

I took my daughter there for her first ever race last winter series... she nearly died when we arrived... "I aint going up there dad!!"... :2funny: "Yes you are sweetheart!!"

Any kind of air... 1" or 2" is an achievement dude... for my first couple of races the highest my wheels got off the ground was when I lifted the bike into the back of the van to go home!!!

Its not as extreme as Coppull and you dont need a license to race. Just pay your entrance fee!! :daumenhoch:

Cheers for the comments on the Cali - she did stand out in her chrome with tuffs against the new schoolers that the kids were on 8)

As for the front brake - it will deffo be coming off :D noticed my self double checking all the time - could get hairy in a race :shocked: "@rse over t!t" springs to mind :(

How does Coppull compare to MK - easier, harder or just different ? ???

So who would be up for a spin next week weather / work permitting (Tuesday is best for me :-\ )

Cracking laugh , first time on the track since BITD ( I never raced then :-[)

Thanks for letting me use the Cali , it rode really well :daumenhoch: We were even challenging the whipper snappers by the end of the evening :knuppel2: :2funny:

Defo up for some more next week , I should have thrown a rider together by then :D

John , it's a good job one of us remembered refreshments :coolsmiley: After that first lap I thought we were going to hyperventilate :LolLolLolLol:

Like John says it would be good to get a few of us down there next time (names to faces etc) , Strictly no professionals yet though ;) We are both on a slow learning curve but enjoying every minute of it :daumenhoch:

Hey Moley , I did say in my reply ............ STRICTLY NO PROFESSIONALS :D Before we know it JTSmooth will be down aswell :LolLolLolLol:

TBH we need as much advice as possible, so the more the merrier :D Would be great to meet a few more of you too :daumenhoch:
