Title: 1978 Vicount made in Italy VENOM
Post by: Bowie75 on July 04, 2009, 02:53 PM
This is a made in Italy For Viscount and is called a Venom, I Personaly haven't heard of this bike before but maybe one of you guys can shed some light on it?

Now when i received this bike (which i saved from a skip) it was in a really bad way the rust on the frame was flaking and left some pitting which i had to fill using fine surface filler before painting

i have tryed to keep any parts that could be used and bought a few bits to complete so i would say 85% original

the parts that have been replaced are: -

Levers these should be weinmann pre bent
Pedals these should be Ofmega which look very similar to what is on it
Seat post which is the same as what was on it but a different shade of gold
Tyres the original tyres were similars to snake belly and were all black
seat post clamp

everything else is original.

Im still waiting on a few parts like foam for the grips and some decals which are gold foil

Not sure on the rims as they are unbranded (no sticker) but they have grooved sides but the rear is wearing a little and they have a seam so i would say they are ambrosio rims  and the crank is Ofmega
