I think I am developing dementia, or alzeihmers - I can't remember which
I remember going to see Eddie Fiola on the flying banana GT in Manchester ( Stockport, more specifically I think ) in what must have been 84 or 85.
Can anybody help? Were any of you lot there?
-
Yeah I was there doing the demo with Andy Preston before fiola and Breed did their stuff . Good old days eh. :daumenhoch: We did all the UK shows and Flew over to put a few shows on for the Irish kids .
-
Was it one of Pete Quadrophenia's dreams???
-
it must have been the 85 gt world tour, i saw the show at my local leisure centre, bought a full gt world tour padset in white and got eddie to sign them, can't beleive that i gave them away :wtf:

Dave........where did you get such a rare peice of memorabilia???? Only someone who could have been there would have had that!!! bet it aint autographed ;)
-
if my drunken eyes are correct, i can see an eddie signature, god i wish it was 85 again - in my opinion bmx just ain't the same as bitd as it is these days, although it has progressed 100%

That isnt Eddies autograph but is infact a blatant forgery by that cheeker prankster and Southsea legend Vince Gregory, if Dave would be so kind to open said gem you'll see the reall deal signatures as collected by myself.
-
has any one got any pics from that tour? as my ex :2gunsfiring_v1: wife threw mine away .

I was there , but numpties couldn't get the qauter-pipe in the hall, as the doors weren't big enough , so it was ground and stuff on the trick ramp ,still a great show then though.

Not seen one of those for years but cant make out some of the names. Got fiola and Dave Breed Andy Irwin (me) Dave Curry but who is the one at the top? I Know Andy Preston fell out with GT on that tour (long story) but Andy was right and cant remember who took his place for a few shows.
Ta Andy
-
We like along story Andy, tell us all about it :daumenhoch:
-
I would love to Billy but I am friends with both people and although I took Andys side I dont want to give John Edge a hard time.
I could tell you everything that went on on that tour and you would be shocked by the way some so called stars act but my lips are sealed. Andy Preston is without doubt the coolest person I have ever met and what these people did was out of order .
I will spill the beans when I see you. If anybody wants to know anything else about the tour just ask If I can tell you without causing to much grief. We did have a lot of fun and it was good to be the only English rider that did the whole tour.
