Set up my new ride and rode it round the block, there's a faint smell of melting plastic I can't identify which is quite worrying. I've checked that there are no brake cables touching the wheel in any way, just can't put my finger on what it is.
any ideas?

When painting the frame I neglected to remove the bottom bracket cups, thinking that I would get some new ones, so I painted over them with plstic based spray paint.
Hence the burning smell.
