Post by: STUMPYLEE on July 27, 2009, 07:11 PM
I'm building up my rickman freestyler, has anyone any bike mag info from when they can out (mine is an 84 model with the fixed pegs). do you know what parts they had on them? like seat post, stem, cranks, brakes, pedals, seat, seat clamp, I have got some ideas on some parts i want to put on it but any help is greatly appreciated  :daumenhoch:

mates had em bitd reynolds tube, brazed , there rare cos they all broke ,  head tube pull straight off, usually whilst six foot up in the air , then the top tube would stick in your leg or worse when you hit the ground  :LolLolLolLol:   all the one i saw were white but i think they did a chrome  :-\

They did one with a diagonal reinforcement bar from the seatube to the downtube to.

They did come as a complete, i used to have a scan of an advert, but I cant find it. Im sure it had blue skyways.

Fantastic pics from BITD on this post - all the ingredients are there from the summer holidays 1983-1985...

1. BMX bikes with wheel covers etc.
2. Nike windjammer jackets
3. Puma tennis trainers with those really, really thick soles that wouldn't bend - Boris Beckers I think
4. Overcast skies

Took me back that...

...feeling wistful today... :)

could well of been yours bodamus, i pick it up a year or 2 ago but i can't remember who from. it's been packed away sice then only been out of box a couple of times since then. I've got plenty of bits to get for it but i have a year to pick the bits up as i'm hoping to show it a mk next year, hope it's worth the wait. Not everyone's cup of tea but i love  :smitten: it as it's the same as mine bitd

Nice one Dan - I have a blue and red one with an embroidered Nike swoosh from the early 80s - I need a Head holdall that someone has scralled L.C.F.C on (grew up in Leicestershire - Villa were not smiled on) and I have tried to cover up with marker pen to complete my 'going to f-ing school in 80s' look - I even had a back perm for a bit - still living that one down...
