Hey Guys,
I'm not up to speed on my S&M stuff but I know I want one.
Was the Kriss Bennett frame any good?????
Cheers,
Lee.
-
yep a good frame or an sbc 125r ;)
-
I too have hovered over that Buy it now, Buy it and save me from myself :LolLolLolLol:
-
total bargain ccant believe no ones pressed the button yet
-
125r has gone now that was a better bargain
thats still worth grabbing
-
I had a bennett frame for a while and didnt like it. It was only small things that put me off: the droopy cock toptube wish bone, the low chain stays, and the weight. I never got on with it.
-
Alex you know your S&M's I take it it's a bit of a porker then????? I'm after something light.
-
ebay member mi16kie has a very good condition red one in his loft, frame only, that he is willing to sell!
-
there's one on the bay at the moment it's been re listed a couple of times, guy never answers questions.
really wana know its weight.
-
put an offer in on that complete with primo cranks.
:daumenhoch:

It sure aint light. Id guess its more than 6lbs. Im sure someone has a spec with the weight on it (if they even bothered listing the weights back then?). PM mi16kie and ask him to weigh his, but dont be holding out for it to be under 5lbs!
-
i'm sure its WELLL over 6lbs, the fit s1 was 6lbs when it came out, and that was groundbreaking stuff.

I have NO idea how much any frame of mine weighed before my current one (actually, im not sure about that :crazy2:). I used to have no clue what my top tube length was. I wonder what the next "important" frame detail will be that we all get hung up about.
"Hey, what the Strain load of your frame?" "Oi mate, whats your frames torsional stiffness?" ;D

That's not too far from the truth Alex! This whole weight thing is ridicularse! If you're worried about how much a mid frame weighs you should just get a new school frame.

-
apologies for the thread hijack...
someone snapped up that complete Bennett on the bay then!
-
Here is my old one. I put gyro tabs and rear facing chain tensioners on it, and made the left dropout bigger to protect the 16t freewheel. I didnt lke the dropout shape, the seatstay withbone/top tube, or the BB wishbone. I thought the headtube gusset was quite tidy tho
I didnt even like the stickers on it so I got one without any. But looking at them now, I think they are OK
