whats the difference between a ad990 and a fs990?
i need a ad990 but with the longer brake mount slot, no where has any in polished only black so i was wondering what the difference is between the ad990 and fs990
cheers kev

i could be wrong but i thought the FS meant Front Specific? :-\
-
or free style?
but the FS is the front specific one yes.
the only differnces are the mouting of the straddle cable/front cable and the bits you get to do this.
other than that the arms dimensions and shape should be the same.
-
Joe, you are so so wrong! What are you talking about?
Yes, the cable hardware you get in the box is different cos one is a rear and one is a front. And the springs are the same, sure. But there is a massive difference in the arms ...... THE STICKER!!!

oh yeah, sorry, the sticker.
but you can easily use both brakes for front or rear, they are pretty universal, you might not ahve all the bits you need in the pack but if you've ever bought any AD brakes int he past or taken any off a bike you'll probably have the bits lying around to make it work.
the current "universal" AD type dia tech brakes come with a hideous and massive front adjuster that is fit for the bin!

cheers guys, ive got lots of ad990 spares including 3 sets of arms but the 2 polished sets have the short brake mount slots and the black pair have the long brake mount slots and just my luck i need a polished one with the long brake mount slots :tickedoff: :tickedoff:
