finished building my mk3 1in headset holmes today, excuse the grubby marks ive yet to give it a good polish, it will be complete once the s&m padsets come into the country, its replica of the one i had in 1994 :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
not entirely happy with the rear axle postion, needs a half link to get the axle sitting perfectly in the middle of the dropouts

-
love it, looks real nice, didnt know the dirtmonsters came out in 94, i thought it was 96/7
-
sex
regardless of the year, the dirt monsters look right to me, if you had 94 Holmes then there's a fair chance it ended up with Dirt monsters if dirt was your thing i reckon.
-
the dirt monsters are a little later than 94 but look so right on the bike, i really wanted some gt logo tread tyres but none were around at the time and when they do come up ur looking at £50+ for em
-
nice bike dude.
this just reminds me of how bad s+m build quality is, the travel in the dropout should be equal to the brake block travel on the 990's but never was on s+m's. i see you've had to angle your pads heavily to catch the rim.
-
yeah ive had to angle the pads a bit, hopefully if i put a half link in the chain it should bring the axle into the middle of the dropout and the blocks will align perfectly
-
i just drilled another hole thru the brake arm a little further in.

Nice... :daumenhoch:
