got a little 1983 GT 20" mini, it needs a seat clamp, but a normal one dont fit, what size do i need ? has anybody got one ?
-
Pete i have this same problem on 2 of my minis (Robo n CW) :-\
Sorry to be of no help at all :LolLolLolLol:
-
Would a double clamp or hinged not do the trick ??? :-\
:coolsmiley:
-
too big or small? i have some clamps that are different sizes by small amounts.
-
I've got one of those Pete, the one you grappled over the fence at mk. I built the tube up with electrical tape and got a dc hinged on it, that works fine. If not you could try a cut down seat shim on the outside :daumenhoch:
-
hinged or 2 piece are to big. so i aint got a clue tbh, fancy the bodge it idea of marks ;D
mark send me that gt mini please, i like it
-
When I had one many moons back, I am sure a had a 'tange sc-2' on it...
got one the clamps, if you measure the dia I will check it out, against it, if its any help....
:daumenhoch:

it need to be tight chaps as i gotta get my daughter off her haro mini onto a decent bike before she goes mental, she did say the GT was cool ;)
-
come on kids, there must be someone on here half clever ???
-
Would an early road bike one fit ? , kinda like Campy/Suntour/Shimano .............
Ask Steve Earl what he has on his chubby ;)
-
pete rickman made a shim to fit over seat tube which made up the difference
on seat clamp it was just a bit of tube with a slit in it or take a look on ebay
for a dk split seat clamp made for minis :daumenhoch:
-
The 1983 Gt mini in BMXMUSEUM has an Dia mx hinged job!
Not sure if its tight or not....
-
Hold tight, I remember I bought another GT mini years ago with a clamp fitted, it had a split shim fitted inside. Fook knows if I've still got it but I'll go digging....
*UPDATE - Not found it :LolLolLolLol:
It may turn up , my junk room is sky high with unorganised crap. Found 4 mx 1000's, dx's, boxed forklifter stem, a burnished ripper among a ton of other bits....not a bad rummage. ;)
-
found them, there are these tange clamps that are too small for a normal bmx. they measure a little over 20mm inside. one was shoehorned onto a showpony the other is lightly used.
nice blue clamps. LMK if your interested ;)
-
send it down old pal....with the other bits ;)
-
ok, will do.
now where's my pistons ??? :'(
