Ok, as ive just uploaded some pics i figured ill put some here.
More pics as i progress.
May as well use the tried and tested recent thread title too ;)
Bought the frame from another radster.
Chrome was shot so it was stripped and i painted it myself and used repro decals.
it will be ridden so im not being fussy as its gonna take some hits im sure!
Im not building it parts correct, just building it to ride.
Ive got most of the bits, just waiting for a couple more deliveries.
-
Nice one! Look forward to seeing it built :daumenhoch:
-
It will look reasonably right from a distance LOL
I think the forks would have been painted but as i had to loose the chrome back end i left the forks chrome.
I dont have the right bars, ill use a pair of tioga bars i have, the right bars for these seem pretty hard to locate and pretty expensive when you do!
-
Ok, so its all nailed together.
Still waiting for some front axle location washers to arrive though.
Ive got some bars coming too.

Its in no way 'part correct' and its not built with all the finest of parts, just either what i had or what i could get cheap LOL
But, its rideable and thats what its intended for. This is going to get abused so no point using all the finest NOS parts i could find. I just wanted something to ride/learn on and wanted something 'old school'.
Along with the fact that i REALLY wanted a late master when i was a kid :)
Rides nice, just need final tweeking and tightening. I dont trust it at all yet though so just had a bit of a roll around.
-
Looks blinding does that! Bet she rides well :daumenhoch:
-
Yeah, it feels nice.
I just retightened everything so ill take it out again tomorrow.
Hopefully ill get some more work soon so i can replace the crank/chainring/spider for something more appropriate :)
I wasnt sure about putting the GT stem on it, but it was cheap and it works well so it'll do. Doesnt look as bad as i thought it would.
-
looks pukka that fella.
theres a haro group 1 stem on the bay at the mo if you wanted it...

Love that mate :smitten: I took your advice and went for the Pagent Mid Blue for mine, should be ready at the end of this week :daumenhoch:
-
Actually mate, are you coming to the London cruise charity ride? be great to meet you and see this in person :daumenhoch:
-
Whens the london ride?
I live in sheffield but will be coming down sometime soon.
Got that stem in watch, but i lost my main job so im proper skint. Thats why this has been put together the way it was.
The GT stem will do for now, the chainwheel.cranks.pedals are my main concern, especialy that chainring LOL
Its a sugino chainring but just some cheapo stamped steel spider. Hopefully ill find a used peregrine or haro chainwheel sometime, then when i can afford them ill get some twin pinch flights.
Im not too keen on the look of the seat guts but it works so well ill keep it i think.
I wanted a nice railed white new school seat but couldnt find one so i got a cheap white GT copy for now.
Bits will get replaced as and when i can :)
parts list is
88 master F+F
tioga bars
AME grips
tech 77 levers
dia compe hombre rear brake
dia compe 880 front brake
gt piston stem
ody gyro2
slick cable front
kaloy seat post
peregrine 48 hubs
sun rims
barefeet tyres
sugino crank
kmc chain
cheapo suntour copy seat clamp
