Could anyone tell me what seat post size for an early 80's pk ripper and the seat post size for a 85 second gen ripper. I cannot get a post into my 85 at all. it is an se 22.2 post. very weird, wonder if the guy who had it and got it powdered got some inside the tube??? Cheers guys Tony

Tony,
Early rippers used a seat tube to suit a 13/16" seat post (20.6mm).
Steve (Generallee) had an anodised blue seatpost to suit, on sale recently, or I have some 13/16" solid aluminium bar which a few of the guys on here have used as seatposts in the past. Polishes up nicely.

If your ripper is a straight rear stay frame with a built in seatclamp (85 onwards) the seatpost is 22.2mm standard old school size
The looptail rippers (pre 85) are 13/16"
The seatclamp may have been overtightened at some stage and might need prizing open slightly... be careful!
Hope this helps... :daumenhoch:
