Title: Best Complete Bike for around £250
Post by: dialledbikes on August 21, 2009, 02:17 PM
Friend of a friend wants to buy his kid (aged 11) a BMX bike.  When I asked him what it was for he said riding around the streets with his mates and taking it down to the woods to do jumps (I assume he meant trails of some sort).

Therefore, what do people recommend as the best all round bike in the £250 range (I assume something that price would be perfectly adequate for an 11 year old beginner.  I could do the research myself but figured the collective knowledge of RAD would be a better bet.

Thanks in advance.

:) From what I`ve seen, the 24-7 bikes have a nasty tendency to crack. There`s about 4 locally that have all gone in the last 6 weeks.

:) Just the Slayer.Quite a few of the local riders have/had  `em.Seen 2 cracked around the top/downtube welds near the headtube & 1 with a crack through the chainstays behind the bottom bracket.

:) Are 24-7 owned by the Leisure Lakes chain of MTB shops? They seem to be building a team, don`t know how committed to BMX they are.My local LL shop hasn`t a clue about anything BMX related.
