Title: decent ankle support advice needed
Post by: firebird4130 on August 23, 2009, 06:13 PM
I'm looking for a advice on where to get a decent ankle support having just lost my one I got from an ebay store, seller no longer does them. My ankle needs side support so internal plastic supports are needed to stop it rolling, not looking to spend £60 as the last one was only around a tenner

Cheers  :daumenhoch:

are they not uncomfortable and tight, i know it might be a small price to pay, but does it stop the blood flow to your piggies?

The one I use is great, it can be done up nice and tight, no circulation problems, and it stops my foot from moving up to much and irritation the arthritis! Very comfy too!

looks like a good one that, does it prevent your foot turning over to the side? hopefully the ones i've just got will do

I would think so, its fairly heavy duty construction and once you lace it up, its pretty solid, its got 2 straps that wrap around and velcro on the sides and has an elastic strap round the top. its enabled me to keep riding for a bit.

its my bro' in law, he did it last year in cornwall, his back wheel hooked up on landing on a jump stopping him with a sharp jolt, smashed his ankle bone to smitherines, he will never walk properly again and has lost his job as a firefighter, he is still on crutches 18months later and has no movement in his ankle, enough to put you off for ever.... :'(
