Title: Tunes, runs and comps from BITD
Post by: Withy on September 02, 2009, 10:33 PM
Since I've revived my interest in BITD freestyle... I've been looking for stuff for my bike I'm restoring...( http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=94090.0 ) and I came across some old Dead Kennedy's Vinyl (Bedtime for democracy/Give me convenience or give me death and Plastic surgery disasters).. anyway got me thinking that comps from back in the day and what we all rode to changed the way I listen to music.. like if I hear any Metallica I think of Jason Hassell, or Greg G tearing up ramp runs in Gloucester 87.. Public Enemy's Rebel without a pause is Craig Campbell's run at Holeshot '87, and Holiday in Cambodia is Mike Canning on a  green/white Streetbeat

I reckon that the guys who rode back then have probably got the same tunes on iPods/iPhone/MP3 collections thanks to peer to peer sites. Memorable ones for me are:

Craig Campbell – Public Enemy, Rebel without a pause
Ron Wilkerson – Siouxsie and the Banshees – Cities in Dust at Holeshot, and Sex Pistols Holidays in the Sun in an AFA contest
Mike Canning – Dead Kennedys Holiday in Cambodia, The Clash - Tommy Gun
Lee Reynolds – Dead Kennedys – Stealin’ peoples mail, and Tom Jones Its not unusual for flatland  :2funny:
Greg Guillotte – Metallica,For whom the bell tolls
Pepi - B52's
Craig Campbell (older)- Talking Heads and Devo
Gary Forsyth - Prince, u got the look
Ollie Matthews doing 100mph rolaid's to metallica
Scott Carroll - Johnny be good Chuck Berry :)
Carlo Griggs in Edinburgh - MeatLoaf Dead Ringer.. pedalling like a nutter towards a skinny 87 size quarter :)
Mat(t) Hoffman - B52's
DMC - RunDMC
Dave Young - You Spin me round (85-86??)
Mark Noble - The Cult She Sells Sancutary

All of the rest of us Beasite Boys/Run DMC

Any others :) ???
