i take no responsibility for the outcome of your plastics :LolLolLolLol:
your best off with starting with a white item ,,,thats why i was a bit hesitant to dye this ,,,,,
most colours will dye black though ,,,,
get the slow cooker and fill it with hot water ,,,or a saucepan ,,,i was a bit scared of the plastic touching the side of the saucepan and melting ,so i opted for the slow cooker ,,,have it on the top heat setting and not the slow setting
couple of cups of salt ,,,,disolve the dye in the water add the seat ,,,and keep an eye on it ,,,untill desired colour is achieved
wash it under cold water to close the pores up on the plastic ,,,,,it will need cleaning ,the salt makes it go dullish
then either spray over with wd40 ,,,,or i used baby oil on this one
i just happend to have some lying around .from a previous prostate milking episode :buck2:
there is also a step by step ,in the tech stickies on seat dying :daumenhoch:

Dunno why you reckon it's a touch dark - from the pics on my screen the colour looks about right to me :daumenhoch:
What dye colour/code is it exactly then ??? I've got a couple of pots of Dylon "scarlet red" i was gonna use to freshen up a dull faded seat as i had done the same using black dylon on a faded seat before - but maybe what you are using is the way forward :-\
