Title: Price Advice... 90's PK Ripper.
Post by: beard1973 on September 15, 2009, 04:55 PM
I aquired this via a SWAP for a fairly rare Koisumi made Burner Frame & Forks.... it was stripped back to the BARE alloy when I got hold of it.

I was quite taken with the NEW Eastern Shovelhead colourscheme: http://www.easternbikes.com/products/completes/33

So I had this powdered up in Lime Green & Chocolate Brown, it won't to everyones taste so I have probably limited its sales appeal in that respect but the finish is VERY VERY good.

Its now stood behind my desk at work for the past 9 months and I see no time at which I will have the time or money to finish building it, so I am looking to let it go to fund something else I am working on.

I have little or no knowledge on RIPPERS or any bikes from this 'era' mid 90's...?? so would appreciate an honest valuation if I was to get shut of this F&F's.

The colour is very hard to photograph and does appear lighter in these images than it actually is.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer with regards 'going rate' / 'valuation'....

Cheers

Beard

i say a bit more than 150 as still rare and not everyone can afford 300 to 400 for a original pk ripper and those ripper`s are so much more nicey than the new one`s

That's one of the very last 'real' Rippers ever made, my 99 frame looks identical to that. I'd be tempted to hang on to it for a few more years as it's such a late one, probably a future collectors item.

I'd ask for more than 150, but as it's not in an original colour SE collectors might start getting picky. :-\

I sold my 1" non-v-brake 1990/91 PK Ripper frame (looked the same as that one above) with Landing Gear Lite forks for £120 a couple of years ago.  It wasn't as mint as that one though, Beard.

Yours more likely to appeal to a rider rather than a collector.

That version you have is probably the best version of the PK that SE Racing ever made, before everything went tits up and they started churning out the stuff they sell now.
