Right boys and gals another one of Zak's weekly pain in the ass's. Right as some of you know i bought a 9t wheel like a couple of weeks back, theres a lil problem with it. it does not run smoooth, i can feel every time the chain hits the teeth and when i decide to get in the mood to ride it like i stole it, im too scared too put the power down as it starts to squeek and feels like its all going to blow up! i hope its just something simples... LMK :'(

What kind of chain have you got on it matey?
I remember reading that some chains don't like the tight radius of the 9t cog...

:) Are the pawls and springs rusted to death?
-
havent looked yet buddy, its on my to do list :daumenhoch:
-
check your chainline, :daumenhoch:
service the cass driver with light oil! not grease!
25/9 is a little crunchy anyway tbh,

Chainline seems sweet, and would Castol LM be any good or total naff?

take the driver out and check the pawls, springs and the hub itself for any damage, give the pawls the driver body and hub shell a good wipe over with a rag, get in all the gaps including the ones in the driver body where u have removed the pawls, re assemble and if u like put some copper grease in the hub and fit the driver and give it a good spin, remove the driver and wipe away the excess copper grease from the bearing area and any other parts that its oozing out of, refit driver and u will notice u no longer have the loud tick noise and the driver still engages nicely :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:
