Post by: medved on September 22, 2009, 08:43 PM
no this is not a topic about how things were done BITD....

what are the regulations for racing in an old school class?

are there any age restrictions for the rider............and any age restrictions for the bike? do they allow replicas?

cant seem to find any info anywhere about it.

It`s all about the bike, basicly it needs to have a 1" headset and caliper brakes and you`re on your way  :daumenhoch:

Fairly new to this racing myslef but have found that the best rear brake to use is an odyssey pitbull (£18 on different path), and as long as the frame has a 1" threaded headset and no AD luggs your good to go. No age restrictions im aware off.

The frames that qualify are prob 1993 and earlier - quite allot of people use early 90's frames as they are a bit longer - the Haro Group 1 is a popular frameset.
Id avoid the re-issue framesets as thats clearly not O/S.

Other bikes used are Robbinson Pro's and Amtracs, Cobby has a robbo pro for sale in the for sale section now that would do the trick.

Look on here http://www.ossbmxracing.co.uk/ (http://www.ossbmxracing.co.uk/) and goto north summer 09 then click on the details of each person and you will see what bikes people ride.

Hope that helps.
