Im not really down with the lower front end, but its all good ideas and probably what kids want.
Same with the short link chain. Nice idea and will make small sprockets work better.
I LOVE the enclosed dropout slots. I was even thinking about getting some forks done like that myself, as I have female axled hubes.
Also nice to see a US made cassette with a female axle. Id like to see how it works.

The dropouts are a great idea :4_17_5: Frame looks sweet and that chain looks slick too.
As for the slam XL's :LolLolLolLol:
-
it's soooooooooo completely what the kids want.
how many times does he want to mention weight saving? lol.
I got my Dirt Bike and the blurb says "don't be a weight weenie" lol.
they have called it a WTF, so maybe in their own way S&M are taking the weewee out of the kids?

I saw the cassette hubs when I was over there, was a nice looking unit :)

i'd been pretty underwhelmed by near everyone of those vids until this, not much "outside the box" thinking and too much emphasis on colours,
kind of re-affirmed why i love s&m,
chain is beautiful.
fork idea interests too, wouldnt it throw out the whole head angle geometry?
must have to have the dedicated matching frame?

What's a black hole dropout?
WTF = what the fvck or weaker than fvck?
-
What's a black hole dropout?
Im guessing that the front one is the same, but the rear one doesnt have a slot, just a hole (a slotted hole). The back of the dropout is enclosed so there is nothing to hang up or catch on grinds. Obviously you can only use them with female axle hubs

love the slams, would have to cut them down an inch each end tho :LolLolLolLol:
some cool bike redesign there tho :)

Like all S+M stuff, looks mint. I'm not sure how taking length off the forks and then sticking it on the bars saves much weight though?
The chain looks like the ones used on direct-drive 2stroke karts, if it is then it will take some serious abuse, but it'll weigh more (he started it!) and have more resistance with friction.
The new stuff from profile looks good as well www.profileracing.com. Loving the spline drive sprocket and the mini-stuff looks sweet..
