As a few know, and even fewer may have noticed I have recently stopped posting so much on here as a deliberate ploy to try to stop myself from buying bike parts. I am happy with my three complete OS bmx's but somehow have recently got into OS mtb.
I bought a purple/green 1990 Marin Bolinas Ridge a few months back as I wanted a retro looking hardtail bike for a bit of casual riding. Unfortunately, a nicer black/yellow 1991 Marin Muirwoods popped up for a song on the bay so I got that aswell. A few days later an even nicer grey/yellow 1991 Marin Palisades then became availabe on retrobikes.com so I had to buy that.
I now have a shed full of mtb's to deal with just when I thought I was doing well I am finding myself searching ebay for thumb shifters and cosmic trail pads. Fortunately the Bolinas is going int he morning, and as soon as I get some repro decals for the Muirwoods, that is going too (for a healthy profit hopefully). Really loving the 91 Palisades, but if a 1990 comes up for a good price I wont be able to help myself.
What is wrong with me?

My better halfs got a Marin Bear valley in the crackle grey finnish with Black forks , it is totally original down to the Araya CV7 rims and Marin Rockstar tyres ( Knobbly skinwalls :D) Hardly been used but I doubt she would part with it , we went to Grizedale a few months back and it got loads of comments of the MTB boys ;D
Are they worth much ???

Not really unfortunately, I was surprised but old school Marin arent that sought after. I paid £60 for the Bolinas (selling today for £75 and its all original), £35 for the Muirwoods (that needed work and is now probs £100-ish), and £100 for the Palisades (better spec, still all original with NOS era correct Marin tyres thrown in).
Cheap as chips really for the attention they get.

Not for me im afraid, but depending on price and location my brother might be interested as he is on the look out.
All these Marins come with Arayas and Shimano components, its amazing what you can pick up on the cheap.
