True labour of love this one, after 27 years of wanting I have one!,lot of time and money has been spent but worth it I feel. All work done by myself including Rit dying the saddle, painting the frame and forks and building the wheels.Gold wheels are due to BITD at Wheels track in Birmingham you could use the tracks rat bikes and I always remember my fave a red KZ1 with gold rims, so a small amount of poetic license but I hope you like it. Finished a couple of weeks ago but with Splodge's exellent example being posted around then I did not want to give you E.T. overload.
P.S Thank's Del for your help with the fork decals :daumenhoch:

Me too, every month I checked out the 'trick stuff' section of 'BMX Action Bike' then it was straight down to Stetchford cycles to spend my pocket money :) even now I start a Bike with every intention of sticking to a stock build but can't help myself and have to tweak the parts and colours 8)

I like it, its different, everyone usually does a Stock build or 'Elliot' replica which is fine but a change is always great :daumenhoch: Loving the pads too, not the ET ones everyone usually uses :daumenhoch:

With regard the Pads although I think the E.T. ones are a nice collectors item I have never felt they suit the Kuwy E.T. and I think the classic thunder bolt ones suit at least my build better, I’m glad my take on this Bike has been generally well liked, with it being such a iconic bike it could have gone either way. Thanks' lads' :daumenhoch:

Got a gold one on the go myself

And after paying c£200 for an original set your probably sensible not too ;)
-
Yes GB thats the fella :daumenhoch: and have you seen the gold plated one :smitten: on BMXMUSEUM which apparently was used as a display at the U.S premier of the film . GS, £200 for a Pad set!!! even with the credit crunch OS prices show no signs of slowing down :(

Beautiful mate well done! :4_17_5:
You certainally got the deep cherry red spot on, when looking at different bikes the red seems to change in pics depending on the light, some look to dark, others to light, they are all probley bang on but they all look slightly different! I love the gold bling wheels, well done mate.
eerr....so were we bidding against each other for bits n bobs on ebay? :D

Well if it isn’t a fellow member of the E.T. Owners Club! :daumenhoch: Cheers Splodge, the red was my second attempt the first being too light but if at first and all that. As for bidding against you I doubt it as most of the parts I have had for ages and the pads are the only recent Ebay purchase but who knows it’s a small world ;).

I knew of the gold parts one , hence my ;) towards your build :daumenhoch:

just wondering, did you do the red then white over or white then red? I did the white first, cocked it up, did it again then did the red.
I must say though you managed to get the fade from red to white better than me, how did you do it?

First i did the rear triangle dropout in White then I did the middle Red section and finally faded the White front triangle into the Red .after that it was a case of t-cutting the 2 colours together prior to keying and clear coats.Oh and no cock-a-doodles were harmed in this process ;)
