Title: Viceroy & Akisu - Date ID
Post by: greentoad on March 12, 2006, 08:22 PM
Hi all

I am trying to date a Viceroy Frame & Akisu Forks.

During a few searches I found that Akisu made forks for Hutch, and also Mongoose, but who made Viceroy?

The frame has good welds (tons better than a burner  ;) ) and is ID - K3874866 - do I take this as November 1983?

The forks have Akisu 83  - 1983? but not on the dropouts like later models but just below the headset threads, so I presume must be earlier than when Akisu made forks for Hutch.

Any help?

Thanks,

J.

Got any pics? I have akisu forks on one of my bikes. They made a bazillion forks for thousands of different companies. They are made (or were) in korea or Taiwan. Massive engineering company. Made Container ships too! lol
Heres a pic of the forks on mine. Virago Streetheat frame. Very much like a Haro master.
