|I was not into bmx during the 'mid school' era and by the look of some of the bikes they seemed quite heavy compaired to old school and modern bikes.What sort of weight are we talking about of say a 1996 Haro or whatever was a good bike then? Was the emphasis on strength as oppossed to weight?

i shipped my WAL complete when i sold it, was over 42lbs :daumenhoch:

you did also get some relatively lightweight bikes too, I think s&m challengers are around 5 lbs.

Weight wasn't really considered important it was all about strength, for a freestyle bike I would reckon anything from 35 to 45 lbs.
Riding had progressed to a point where the bikes just couldnt withstand it and riders were getting hurt due to weak parts so the emphasis was on strength.
