When were these out and used on bikes BITD...
1) Metal (not alloy) hubbed tuff wheels
2) 901 dia compe brakes (1985/1986 or later?)
3) Plastic hub tuff wheels

November 84 was the first time an advert was out for DC 901's.
Metal hubbed tuffs.....August '79.
plastic.......around 85

I did some digging a while back on tuff wheel release dates - came up with the following :
Tuff I (Unstamped) 1974
Tuff I (Stamped) 1977
Tuff II (Steel Hubs) 1979
Tuff II (Alloy Hubs) 1982
Tuff II (Rear Alloy Hub Front Plastic Hub) 1985
Tuff II (Both plastic hubs) 1986

there are two different shaped steel hubs , the later ones (i presume are later) are shaped like the alloy ones , i ll take a piccy of my ones , both have the bulge where the spindle is on the front wheel but the shape is different on the metal where they are riveted to the wheel , one is sorta triangle shape and the other round

did skyway also do a steel hub that was square at the cut out? very early tuff II

Wow :shocked: Aint' seen steel hubs like those second ones mate ???
I have a couple of sets of steel hub tuffs all mine are like your first pic - I'd go along with what you said and say those are the '1st gen' ones as the second pics look like it's moving toward the alloy shaped hubs :-\
Going off the earlier dates i posted up I'd assume they must have come out some time in 1980 or 81 :-\
